Every Child Matters, No Matter Where They Live.
We go where the need is greatest, working in 12 districts to help children grow up healthy, educated, skilled and safe.
Our development initiatives are tailored to each community’s culture and context to ensure relevance, ownership, and long-term sustainability. By listening to children, youth, families, and community leaders, we co-create solutions that address their unique needs and aspirations.
In collaboration with government entities and other like-minded organizations, we also implement national advocacy initiatives to ensure children and youth across the country grow up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe. These efforts are aligned with national priorities, helping to drive systemic change that uplifts and protects every child. ChildFund operates in the following districts:

When Communities Lead, Change Is Lasting.
Community development is central to ChildFund’s mission to improve children’s well-being. Our programs are designed to engage local communities and key stakeholders in addressing the most pressing needs of both children and their surroundings. By involving those who know the challenges best, we ensure that our initiatives are locally led and impactful. As communities grow more self-sufficient, we shift our focus to areas that need greater support. Together, child by child and community by community, we co-create environments where every child can thrive—growing up healthy, educated, skilled, and safe.
Before

They say water is life, but for children at the ECD center in Daru, Kailahun district, access to clean and safe water was a pressing need. The only water source, a dilapidated well, had long failed to meet the community's needs.
After

In 2024, through its local partner, Ndomakeh Federation, ChildFund rehabilitated the well, restoring it to a safe and functional state. Today, that single water well serves not only the ECD center but also several surrounding communities, providing over 500 people with reliable access to clean water.
“ChildFund and Ndomakeh Federation are on a journey to ensure that children achieve their full potential. We have witnessed firsthand the transformational development taking place in the lives of children and their communities. Our collective work from sponsorship, to education, water, sanitation and hygiene, among other sectors, is paying off.’’
